An international sports event of the stature of the Commonwealth Youth Games results in a number of significant economic, social and other benefits for the host nation & the host city. Regeneration and improvement of its civic infrastructure and public amenities, allocation of |
budgets from the Government for improvement of city and sports infrastructure, direct and indirect job creation, intense exposure through media resulting in a boost to tourism, improvement in the environment profile of the city and much more. This was our underlying objective of successfully bidding for the Commonwealth Youth Games 2008. |

Commonwealth Youth Games Pune 2008 will be a celebration of sport, culture and traditional Indian hospitality. Record participation for the first time, from all 71 nations and territories of the Commonwealth, bears testimony to the fact that expectations are high. Our time starts NOW as we prepare to showcase to the world our drive, commitment, can-do attitude and capability of hosting a world class event. |
